| 内容简介（中文） | 是册共计二十幅绣画，其中十八幅所绣为十八罗汉之神通故事，另二幅所绣，一为观世音菩萨与善财童子，一为韦陀天。每幅故事简易明白。全册运用各色深浅绣线视图案所需，再以各种不同针法，交相使用，层层绣出。册页绣幅虽小，因设色鲜艳明亮，绣工亦极精整，故人物表情与动态均生动传神，使观赏者易于了解，有助教化作用，今选其中部份展出。 |
| 内容简介（英文） | This album is comprised of 20 leaves, 18 of which represent stories of lohans. The other two represent Kuan-yin, the Goddess of Mercy, and Wei-t’o, Defender of the Faith. The clear illustration of the stories is complemented by the lively method of depiction. Threads of various colors range from light to dark, depending on the subject. Combined with different techniques of embroidery, the layers seem to stand out, giving the works a realistic and three-dimensional quality. Although small, the opulent coloring and fine craftsmanship convey the liveliness and expressions of the figures. Thus, the content of the works is easy to comprehend, serving a didactic function. Part of the album has been chosen for display here. |
